Own a Position, Not a Feature List

Feature parity arrives faster every year. When five products do the same thing, the one with the clearest story wins the shortlist.

Positioning decides which comparison a buyer puts you in, and that decision happens before they ever see your pricing page.

Being Compared on the Wrong Axis

If a buyer files you under a category where a $9 tool is the default, you lose on price before the demo starts. That is a positioning failure, not a sales failure.

The second symptom is internal. Three people describe the company three ways, so the website, the deck and the ads each pull in a different direction.

Rebranding does not fix this. New colors on unclear positioning is an expensive way to stay unclear.

What Is Included

Category DecisionYou get a call on which category you compete in, with the alternatives you were considered against named.
Competitive FrameYou get the axis you want buyers comparing on, and the reason it favors you.
NarrativeYou get the story of the shift in the market that makes your product necessary now.
Messaging HouseYou get one core message, three supporting pillars, and proof beneath each pillar.
Naming GuidanceYou get naming conventions for products, tiers and features so the range stops confusing buyers.
Voice and Tone GuideYou get the rules for how the company sounds, with written examples of right and wrong.
Rollout KitYou get the version for the website, the sales deck and the LinkedIn bio, so the story survives contact with each team.

How It Works

Week 1. Interviews with founders, sales and two customers, plus a review of how competitors position themselves.

Week 2. Category and frame options drafted, then argued in a working session. We bring alternatives rather than one answer.

Week 3. Messaging house, voice guide and rollout kit written and handed over.

Who This Is For

A good fit ifyou compete in a crowded category, or you keep losing to a competitor you consider weaker.
Not a fit ifyou have not yet found a repeatable sale. Positioning after ten customers is guesswork.

Overall, this is right when the market misunderstands what you are, and wrong when the product itself is the reason deals stall.

Pricing

Sold as a three-week fixed-scope sprint, quoted per engagement.

FAQ

1. Is this a rebrand?

No. This is the story and the language. Visual identity work is quoted separately if you want it afterward.

2. Do you use a specific framework?

We borrow from established positioning practice, then argue the call against your data. The framework matters less than the evidence behind the decision.

3. Who needs to be in the sessions?

A founder, whoever owns sales, and whoever owns marketing. Three people is enough, and more slows the decision.

4. What happens after delivery?

The rollout kit gets applied to the site, the deck and the content program. We can run that work or hand it to your team.
